ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by Senthilkumar Ramamoorthy, J.) The writ petitioner complains about the alleged encroachment in Plot Nos.192 to 213 at M.G.R. Nagar, Manali Scheme.

2. The writ petitioner asserts that the aforesaid Plots belong to the Tamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board, but have been illegally occupied by various private parties, who have also put up construction thereon. In spite of issuing representations to the official respondents, it is stated that no action has been taken thereon.

3. Learned Standing Counsel for the Tamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board relies upon the status report dated March 12, 2021, wherein at paragraph 5, the details of occupants of Plot Nos.192 to 213 of M.G.R. Nagar, Manali Scheme have been tabulated. As per the said table, except for the occupant of Plot No.201, who is an allottee, all other occupants appear to be encroachers. Accordingly, it is represented that appropriate action would be taken to evict such illegal occupants in accordance with the Tamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board Act.

4. In view of the aforesaid submissions, W.P.No.18769 of 2019 is disposed of by directing the Executive Engineer, Tamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board, Tondiarpet, Chennai to initiate and conclude such eviction proceedings in accordance with law within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
