Mr.T.N.Rajagopalan Government Pleader - - - - - C O M M O N O R D E R (Order of the Court was made by S.MANIKUMAR, J) In W.P.No.13727 of 2018, petitioner has sought for a writ of mandamus, to direct the respondent, to establish LOKAYUKTA, in the State of Tamil Nadu, as per Section 63 of Part III of the Lokpal and Lokayuktas Act, 2013.

2. In W.P.No.19097 of 2018, petitioner has sought for a writ of mandamus, to direct the respondents, to constitute an independent and strong LOKAYUKTA Act, in compliance of Section 63 of the Lokpal and Lokayuktas Act, 2013.

3. Both the writ petitions relate to the constitution of LOKAYUKTA.

4. On this day, when the above writ petitions came up for hearing, Mr.T.N.Rajagopalan, Government Pleader submitted that Legislative Assembly of Tamil Nadu has enacted Act 33 of 2018,

for the establishment of Lokayukta, for State of Tamil Nadu to inquire into allegations of corruption against certain public servants and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto. Act has been gazetted in Tamil Nadu Government Gazette Extraordinary and appointed date, has to be notified. Relief sought for in both the writ petitions have been answered. Hence nothing survives for further adjudication.

5. Accordingly, these writ petitions are disposed of. No costs. Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous Petition No.13727 of 2017 is closed.
