ORDER
This Criminal Original Petition has been filed, to direct the second respondent herein to conduct enquiry and provide adequate police protection to the petitioner based on the petitioner's complaint dated 16.04.2022.

The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is the absolute owner of the property bearing Survey No.22/1A2 which is situated in Periyaseeragapadi Village, Salem Taluk and District. The petitioner had obtained bank loan and had started small handloom industries in the aforesaid property and she had https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
applied for electric connection before the Executive Engineer, Tamil Nadu Electricity Board, Salem District and it was provided to the petitioner. He would further submit that during the month of December 2021, the petitioner paid the necessary charges and after receipt of the payment on 06.04.2022, one Jagadeesan, Assistant Engineer, Tamil Nadu Electricity Board, Salem District inspected the petitioner's property to give electricity connection. At that time, the third and fourth respondents had not permitted the officials to provide electricity connection and have objected the same. Thereafter, the Assistant Engineer has given a complaint to the respondents police seeking police protection. However, the respondents police without giving police protection has conducted enquiry in CSR.No.162 of 2022 and thereby the present petition has been filed.

The learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the first and second respondents would submit that the petitioner has applied for electricity connection and there was an objection made by the neighbours in the petitioner's village. He would further submit that due enquiry would be conducted and if necessary, appropriate police protection will be given to the petitioner.
4. In view of the above, recording the undertaking given by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of with a direction to the second respondent to conduct enquiry and afford police protection to the Electricity Board officials for giving electricity connection to the petitioner's premises/property.
