ORDER

The relief sought in this writ petition is to direct the respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 07.03.2011 in the light of the recommendations made by the Joint Registrar of Co-operative Societies, Thanjavur and by the Management of Orathanadu Agricultural Producers Co-operative Marketing Society.

2. It is the case of the petitioner that he was appointed as Typist on 05.09.1981 and was subsequently posted as Cashier in Orathanadu Agricultural Producers Co-operative Marketing Society. Pursuant to the order of the respondent dated 25.02.2011, a revised pay of Rs.3050/- was granted to him from 01.01.2011. However, a salesman in fair price shop is receiving a higher pay of Rs.6,643/-. Hence, the petitioner made a representation dated 07.03.2011 to the respondent seeking to revise his pay, which was recommended by the Special Officer, Orathanadu Agricultural Producers Co-operative Marketing Society vide communication dated 12.03.2012 and by the Joint Registrar, Thanjavur vide proceedings dated 17.04.2012. Even thereafter, no order was passed on the said representation. Therefore, this writ petition.

3.Heard both sides and perused the materials placed before this Court.

4.Considering the nature of the relief sought herein and having regard to the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 07.03.2011, if not already considered and pass appropriate orders, in accordance with law and also in the light of the recommendations of the Special Officer, Orathanadu Agricultural Producers Co-operative Marketing Society dated 12.03.2012 and the Joint Registrar, Thanjavur vide proceedings dated 17.04.2012. Such an exercise shall be completed by the respondent within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5.This Writ Petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
