(The case has been heard through video conference) The petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 18.06.2020 for the offence punishable under Sections 4(1)(aaa) R/w 4(1-A) of Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act and Transport Act in Crime No.1473 of 2020, seeks bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner was found in possession of 1200 litres of illicit arrack transported from Puducherry in a Scorpio car.

3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is an innocent person and he has been falsely implicated in this case.

4.The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) would submit that the petitioner was arrested for having found in possession of 1200 litres of illicit arrack transported from Puducherry. He would further submit that he is very recently arrested on 18.06.2020 and the investigation is pending.

5.In the light of the above submissions made by the learned Government Advocate that the petitioner has been arrested very recently on 18.06.2020 and also considering the huge quantity of illicit arrack was transported from Puducherry, this court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.
