Petition filed under Article 226 of The Constitution of India praying to issue a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to issue SSLC Mark sheet with the date of birth corrected as 24.12.1994 as per the birth certificate issued by the Corporation of Chennai. For Petitioner :

ORDER

The petitioner is presently studying B.Com in Shri Shgankarlal Sundarbai Shasun Jain College for Women, Chennai. It is the case of the petitioner that she came to know that her date of birth is wrongly entered while studying in 8th Standard by mentioning the same as 25.07.1992 instead of 24.12.1994. Therefore, the petitioner's mother made a request to the School to modify the same. The request was also forwarded by the School viz., the third respondent as per the letters dated 25.04.2013 and 13.08.2013 to the first respondent. Thereafter, the petitioner once again made representations on 17.12.2013 and 18.02.2014 to the respondents. As no orders have been passed on the same, the present writ petition has been filed.

Taking into consideration of the pendency of the representations of the petitioner and without going into the merits of the case, a direction is issued to the first respondent to pass appropriate orders on the representations 17.12.2013 and 18.02.2014 of the petitioner as well as the communication sent by the third respondent within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
