(The case has been heard through video conference) The petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 22.06.2020 for the offence punishable under Sections 4(1) (a), 4(1-A) (ii) of Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act in Crime No.314 of 2020, seeks bail.

2. The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) would strongly oppose to enlarge the petitioner on bail as there are 16 cases pending against the petitioner in Crime Nos.442/2017, 473/2017, 630/2017, 684/2017, 1/2018, 629/2018, 28/2019, 122/2019, 178/2019, 238/2019, 333/2019, 623/2019, 758/2019, 95/2020 and 597/2020. He would further submit that the petitioner was selling illegal arrack which causes harm to the public who consumes it and he was in possession of 120 bottles of brandy each containing 180 ml. 3.In the light of the above fact submitted by the learned Government Advocate, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.
