..Respondent PRAYER : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to include the name of the petitioner in the 2025-2026 panel for promotion to the post of Steno-Typist Grade II within the estimate of vacancies arrived as 8 vacancies within the panel year, in accordance with Section 7 of the Tamil Nadu Government Servants (Conditions of Service) Act, 2016 and to promote the petitioner to the post of Steno-Typist Grade II based on the 2025-2026 panel in the vacancy arising on 01.02.2026 in consideration of the objection/representation submitted by the petitioner dated 31.10.2025, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

ORDER

The writ petition has been filed seeking the following relief : " To direct the respondent to include the name of the petitioner in the 2025-2026 panel for promotion to the post of Steno-Typist Grade II within the estimate of vacancies arrived as 8 vacancies within the panel year, in accordance with Section 7 of the Tamil Nadu Government Servants (Conditions of Service) Act, 2016 and to promote the petitioner to the post of Steno-Typist Grade II based on the 2025-2026 panel in the vacancy arising on 01.02.2026 in consideration of the objection/representation submitted by the petitioner dated 31.10.2025, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court."

2. When the matter is taken up for hearing today, it is informed before this Court by the learned Standing Counsel that the issue in the present writ petition, is already under consideration before the respondent-authority, pursuant to the orders of the Court in W.P.No.43904 of 2025.

3. Taking note that the 2025-2026 panel for promotion for the post of Steno-Typist Grade II is under consideration by the respondent-authority, and that the petitioner had submitted his representation on 31.10.2025 itself, a mandamus is issued to the respondent to consider the case of the petitioner also

and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, forthwith.
