(The case has been heard through video conference) The petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 03.06.2020 for the offence punishable under Sections 4(1)(a) 4(1-A)(ii) of Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act, in Crime No.498 of 2020, seeks bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner was found in possession of 10 bottles of illicit liquor. 3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is an innocent person and he has been falsely implicated in this case.

4.The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) would submit that the petitioner is a habitual offender, involving in the sale of illicit liquor. There are more than 10 previous cases against the petitioner, out of which, 5 cases ended in conviction and 4 cases are pending investigation. In 5 cases investigation has been completed and yet to be taken on file. The petitioner was arrested on 03.06.2020 and this is the second bail petition. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

5.In view of the above submissions made by the learned Government Advocate and also considering the fact that the petitioner is a habitual offender and having many cases to his credit, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. 6.This Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed accordingly. -sd/- 08/07/2020 This order, on being produced, be punctually observed and carried into execution by all concerned TRUE COPY Sub-Assistant Registrar (Statistics/C.S.)
