O R D E R

By way of filing this writ petition, the petitioners seek a direction to the respondents to appoint them as Grade-III Librarian in accordance with G.O.(Ms.).No.243, School Education (K1) Department, dated 27.11.2006, with all consequential service and monetary benefits.

2. Mr.P.Sanjay Gandhi, learned Additional Government Pleader, takes notice for the respondents.

3. It is stated by the learned counsel for the petitioners that the petitioners were absorbed as Village Librarians after five years of their services as Part-Time Librarians and they are now presently working as Village Librarian at various District Library Office. Therefore, now, their only grievance is that having rendered five years of service as Part-time Librarian, which is a feeder category, they are eligible to be appointed as Grade-III Librarian as per G.O.Ms.No.243, School Education (K1) Department, dated 27.11.2006. However, though similarly placed persons were promoted to the said post, the claim of the petitioners seeking to appoint them as Grade-III Librarian has not been considered till date, despite their representation dated Nil-03-2017. Therefore, learned counsel sought for a direction to the authorities to dispose of their pending representation.

4. Considering the limited prayer of the petitioners, this Court, without going into the merits of the matter, directs the respondents to consider the pending representation dated Nil-03-2017 of the petitioners and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight

weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No Costs. WMP.No.14961 of 2017 is closed.
