Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus or any other writ or Direction or Order in the nature of a writ directing the 1st respondent to consider the representation dated 17.07.2017 of the petitioner sent to the 1st respondent and pass orders thereby to promote the petitioner to the next cadre of District Revenue Officer considering the qualification and experience of the petitioner in accordance with the Service Rules.

*The relief sought for in this writ petition is for a direction to direct the 1st respondent to consider the representation submitted by the writ petitioner in respect of his promotion.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner made a submission that the writ petitioner is now working in the post of Lecturer in Computer Science cum System Analyst in the Civil Service Training institute, Personnel and Administrative Reforms (Training I), Department, Bhavanisagar, Erode District. The Grievance of the petitioner is that he has stagnated in the same post of lecturer for about 18 years and the respondent has not taken any action even to consider the case of the Writ Petitioner for promotion to any higher post. However,the Writ Petitioner has submitted a representation on 17.07.2017 to consider his case for promotion to any suitable higher post. 3.
Taking note of the above submissions, without going into the merits of the case, the first respondent is directed to consider the representation submitted by the writ petitioner on 17.07.2017 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within the period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

Accordingly, the writ petition stands disposed of. However no order as to costs.
