This writ petition has been filed seeking for a mandamus directing the second respondent to pass appropriate orders on the representation given by Page No.1 of 4
the petitioner dated 22.11.2014.
The facts as per the affidavit filed in support of this petition is as follows:

The petitioner was appointed as Junior Assistant in the police department on 15.07.1985 through TNPSC. Subsequently he was promoted as Assistant and also thereafter as Superintendent. 2.2.
After completion of six years of service as Superintendent the petitioner was entitled to be promoted as Personal Assistant. On 22.08.2012 the second respondent published inter seniority list consisting of promotion from the cadre of Junior Assistant to Assistant and also to Superintendent including the seniority of the temporary Superintendent. The petitioner was placed in Sl.No.239 against the rule and his juniors were placed above him. 2.3.
In spite of several requests made by the petitioner, the second respondent failed to revise the seniority list. The first respondent issued G.O.(Ms).No.118 dated 17.02.2014, wherein 103 superintendents were promoted as Personal Assistants (Administration). 2.4.
Subsequently, the petitioner has raised objection by way of representation dated 22.11.2014 and therefore sought for direction to dispose Page No.2 of 4
of the same.

Learned Special Government Pleader appearing for first and second respondent is present and submitted that she has no information as to whether the representation of the petitioner dated 22.11.2014 is disposed of or not.

As on today, no officers from the respondents department have represented. Considering the submissions made by the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents and also on perusal of records including the affidavit of the petitioner, this writ petition is disposed of directing the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 22.11.2014 as quickly as possible not later than four weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order, in case if the representation of the petitioner dated 22.11.2014 has not already been disposed of. 16.11.2023 vca To:
