.. Respondents Prayer: This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking for a writ of mandamus, directing thee respondents to issue Patta in Survey No.258 Pennadam Town Panchayat Thittakudi Taluk Cuddalore District in favour of the petitioner.

By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

2. The petitioner would claim that he is residing at Door No.3/7, High Road 2nd Land, Gandhinagar, West Main Road, Pennadam, Thittakudi Taluk, Cuddalore District, for more than 30 years and there very many persons encroached the said Government Porombokke land and also paying kists and other levies to the Government. The petitioner would further state that though very may persons similarly placed have been issued with house site pattas, the petitioner and few others have not been conferred with the said benefit and in this regard, he submitted a representation dated 21.10.2014 to the 2nd respondent with a copy marked to the 1st respondent. The 1st respondent in turn sent a memo dated 15.11.2014 to the 2nd respondent to take appropriate action and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner and inspite of it, no orders came to be passed and hence, came forward to file this writ petition. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

3. Heard the submissions of Mr.C.Munusamy, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.V.Subbiah, learned Special Government Pleader, who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.

4. This Court, taking into consideration the limited scope of the prayer and without going into the merits of the claim projected by the petitioner in this writ petition, directs the 2nd respondent to consider the petitioner's representation/application dated 21.10.2014, in accordance with law and pass orders as expeditiously as possible and not later than eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner.
