ORDER
The relief sought for in this writ petition is to direct the respondents to consider the petitioner's case for appointment as Post Graduate Assistant (Political Science) based on his selection in the written test and participation in the Certificate Verification held on 24.05.2013 under Roll No.12PG13140005 with all consequential benefits.
2.According to the learned counsel for the petitioner, pursuant to the notification issued by the Teachers Recruitment Board for appointment to the post of Post Graduate Assistant (Political Science) for the year 2011-2012, the petitioner made application under Scheduled Caste - Arunthathiyar, Tamil medium quota. Subsequently, he underwent selection process, but he was not selected. Despite the fact that there were 12 vacancies available, no one was appointed, which prompted the petitioner to make a representation on 03.09.2014 to the respondents requesting to appoint him to the post in question. Finding no response on the same, he has come up with the present writ petition for the aforesaid relief.
3. On the other hand, the learned counsel appearing for the respondents fairly submitted that the respondents would consider the representation of the petitioner and pass orders on merits within a reasonable time to be fixed by this Court.
4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and having regard to the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, this Court directs the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 03.09.2014, if not already considered and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. This Writ Petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
