ORDER
This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the third respondent to provide adequate police protection, based on the petitioner's complaint dated 11.10.2017 and to investigate into the matter in accordance with law and to file a final report, before the competent court of law. 2.Heard learned counsel for the petitioner as well as the learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the respondents.
3.It is the case of the petitioner that various dying factory drainage, leather factory drainage are lying in the plane rocky pit situated at Periyasemur Village in R.S.No.184/4 and he has made a representation to the first and second respondents seeking permission to fill up the plane rocky pit work. The second respondent has also granted permission to the petitioner on 21.09.2017 regarding the same. Since the local political parties are objecting the petitioner and demanding ransom, he has made a compliant on 11.10.2017 to the concerned authorities. However, no action has been taken till date and hence, the present petition.
4.It is needless to point out that whenever a petition is given seeking for any relief, the concerned authorities are bound to dispose of the same in one way or the other, instead of keeping it pending indefinitely. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that on 11.10.2017, one such complaint was given to the third respondent seeking for police protection.
5. Since the decision to grant protection or not, has to be taken only by the concerned authorities on the basis of ground of reality, the third respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's representation dated 11.10.2017 and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, after giving due opportunities to the concerned parties before passing such orders. Such exercise shall be completed within a period of eight weeks form the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 6.The Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of, with the above direction.
