Respondents PRAYER: Writ petitions filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of Writ of Mandamus to direct the 1st respondent to correct the date of birth in the marriage certificate of the petitioner bearing Serial Number of Marriage 235/2009 registered on the file of the 2nd respondent by considering the representation dated 24.07.2017 and 25.07.2017 made to the respondents respectively. The petitioner seeks for a Mandamus directing the respondents to correct the date of birth in the marriage certificate bearing Serial No.235/2009 on the file of the 2nd respondent.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

3. It is stated that the date of birth of the petitioner has been wrongly referred to in the marriage certificate as 28.01.1982 instead of 29.01.1982. The petitioner in support of such claim relied on the birth certificate issued by the competent authority. Therefore, the petitioner made a representation on 24.07.2017 to correct the mistake in the marriage certificate. As the said representation has not been considered, the present writ petition is filed before this Court.

4. Considering the above stated facts and circumstances, the respondents are directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 24.07.2017 and pass orders on the same on merits and in accordance with law after obtaining necessary proof of documents in support of the petitioner's claim. Such exercise shall be done by the respondents within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
