Respondents PRAYER:- Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus directing the 1st and 3rd respondents to take necessary steps for appointing the permanent officials to the posts of Director, Registrar and Finance Officer in the 3rd respondent institute within stipulated time period as may be fixed by this Hon'ble Court.

The limited grievance of the petitioner is that the 1st respondent had not filled up the posts of Director, Registrar and Finance Officer in the Central Institute of Classical Tamil, Chennai.

2. Today when the matter was called, the learned Counsel appearing for the 3rd respondent Institute would submit that the post of Director has already been filled up on 01.06.2020.

3. Likewise, the learned Senior Central Government Standing Counsel would submit that the 1st respondent herein, who is the appointing authority, had already issued a notification on 19.12.2020, for the appointment of one Registrar and one Finance Officer for the 3rd respondent institute and that the recruitment process is in progress. As such, the prayer sought for in the present Writ Petition has been considerably met, since the Director post has already been filled up and the 1st respondent has already taken steps to fill up the other two posts.

4. In the light of the submissions made by the learned Central Government Standing Counsel, the 1st respondent herein is called upon to proceed with the notification, for the appointment of one Registrar and one Finance Officer and fill up the posts as expeditiously as possible. Since, the notification has been issued one year back and posts have not been filled up, the 1st respondent shall endeavour to fill up the posts atleast within a period of 3 months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above observations, the Writ Petition is closed. No costs.
