ORDER
(This case has been heard through video conference) The petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 25.06.2020 for the offences punishable under Section 489-A, 489-B, 489-C IPC in Crime No. 302 of 2020 on the file of the respondent police, seeks bail.
2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner along with other accused had printed Rs.500/- counterfeit currency and circulated it. Hence, the complaint.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is an innocent person and he has been falsely implicated in this case. He would further submit that the petitioner is running a printing press. Hence, he prays to grant bail to the petitioner.
4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondent would submit that the petitioner has been arrested very recently on 25.06.2020. He was found in possession of 112 number of Rs.500/- counterfeit currency notes on 23.06.2020. He had attempted to circulate the counterfeit notes to give it to grocery shop owner. machine, laptop and other equipments used for printing the counterfeit notes had been recorded. He would further submit that investigation is pending and hence, he vehemently opposed to grant bail to the petitioner.
5. Taking into consideration of the serious nature of the offence and also the fact that investigation is pending, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner .
