O R D E R

The petitioner joined as a Sub-staff in the respondent Bank on 06.03.1972. He was promoted as Clerk during 1989. He rendered 28 years of service. While so, he was removed from service by an order dated 03.04.2000 on the ground that he absented from duty. The matter of non-employment of the petitioner was the subject matter before the Central Government Industrial Tribunal, Chennai in I.D.No.2 of 2005. The Tribunal upheld the non-employment by an Award dated 06.06.2006.

2. The grievance of the petitioner is that he is not paid any terminal benefits, which he is entitled to, even after removal. He made a representation on 27.03.2015 in this regard. Now he has filed this writ petition, seeking for a direction to the respondent to pay him terminal benefits, which he is entitled to, with interest.

3. When the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that the petitioner would be satisfied, if a direction is issued to the respondent to pass orders on the representation, dated 27.03.2015, within a stipulated period.

4. In view of the narrow prayer now made, the writ petition is disposed of by directing the respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 27.03.2015 on merits and in https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

accordance with law and pass appropriate orders, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
