This Writ Petition has been filed for a direction to the 1st respondent to expeditiously process the petitioner's application dated 11.05.2022 made for issuance of a fresh passport.
2. Ms.S.P.Arthi, learned standing counsel takes notice for the 1st respondent.
3. It is the case of the petitioner that he married one K.Kamurn Nahar, who is a citizen of Bangladesh and they were blessed with two children. The petitioner having decided to travel abroad, made an application before the 1st respondent on 11.05.2022 seeking for issuance of passport. However, till date, the said application has not been processed by the 1st respondent/Passport authority.

4. Though very many grounds have been raised, the learned counsel for the petitioner submits that it would suffice if this Court issues a direction to the 1st respondent to consider the petitioner's application made on 11.05.2022 seeking issuance of passport and pass appropriate orders.
5. On the above contentions, heard the learned standing counsel for the 1st respondent.
6. In view of the limited relief sought for by the petitioner, this Court without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, directs the 1st respondent herein to consider the petitioner's application made on 11.05.2022 seeking issuance of passport and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7. This Writ Petition stands disposed of with the aforesaid direction. There shall be no order as to costs.
