ORDER
This writ petition has been filed to direct the respondents 1 to 3 to rectify / correct the patta for the property morefully described in the prayer to this writ petition within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.
2. According to the petitioner, though he had purchased an extent of 880 sq.ft. of land, the patta discloses only an extent of 489 sq.ft.. The petitioner seeks for correction of the same. The petitioner had given a representation on 10.07.2025, seeking for correction of patta. Since the said representation has not been considered till date, this writ petition has been filed.
3. Mr. S.Arumugam, learned Government Advocate accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.
4. The petitioner has filed supporting documents along with this writ petition in support of the petitioner's representation seeking for correction of the extent of land disclosed in the petitioner's patta. This Court is not expressing any opinion on the merits of the same.
5. No prejudice would be caused to the respondents if the petitioner's representation as stated supra is considered on merits and in accordance with law after giving due consideration to the supporting documents produced by the
petitioner within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.
6. This Court is not expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioner's representation.
7. For the foregoing reasons, this Court directs the third respondent to pass final orders on merits and in accordance with law on the petitioner's representation dated 10.07.2025, seeking for rectification / correction of the patta standing in the name of the petitioner by disclosing the extent of the land as 880 sq.ft. instead of 489 sq.ft. within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order after giving due consideration to the supporting documents produced by the petitioner.
