This writ petition is filed seeking direction for the respondents herein to allow the petitioner to join duty as Senior Civil Surgeon at Government Hospital Thirupathur Vellore and consequently direct the respondents to pay arrears of salary from 7.2.2012 onwards.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner is present and the Learned Additional Government Pleader for the respondents is also present.

3. Learned Additional Government Pleader, appearing on behalf of the respondents submitted that as per the request of the petitioner, the petitioner had already been permitted to join as Senior Civil Surgeon at Government Hospital. In respect of payment of arrears, the petitioner has given a letter requesting to convert his absence period to EOL (Extra Ordinary Leave) and settle it.

4. Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the letter given by the petitioner to consider the absence period as EOL was given on 2/4

7.5.2021 and the said representation is pending and the salary and other benefits are also not settled. It is also reported that the salary is still being paid to the petitioner.

5. Heard both sides and perused the available records.

6. Considering the above observations, as a part of the request of the petitioner has already been fulfilled, this petition stands disposed off with a direction to the respondents to issue a proceeding, considering the request to convert the absence period, as quickly as possible, not later than eight (8) weeks, from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
