The present criminal original petition has been filed to direct the respondent to register a case based on the petitioner's complaint dated 28.11.2015 and to proceed further in accordance with law.
2. The petitioner has lodged a complaint as against one P.Krishnan and two others on the allegation of cheating and land grabbing. Though the said complaint has been lodged as early as on 28.11.2015, no action has been taken on the said complaint till date. Hence, the petitioner has come forward with the present criminal original petition.
3. I have heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent.

4. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that as the allegation is with regard to land grabbing, if the petitioner gives fresh complaint to the Deputy Commissioner of Police, District Crime Branch, necessary action will be taken.
5. In view of the submissions of the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, this court directs the petitioner to give a fresh complaint to the Deputy Commissioner of Police, District Crime Branch, Chennai along with relevant documents within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. On receipt of the same, the the Deputy Commissioner of Police, District Crime Branch, Chennai is directed to nominate an Inspector of Police to investigate the case and upon such nomination, the Inspector of Police is to conduct enquiry and upon enquiry, if materials are gathered indicating commission of any cognizable offence, he is directed to proceed further in accordance with law.
6. This criminal original petition is disposed of accordingly.
