By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal. Mr..T.C.Goplakrishnan, learned standing counsel accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.
2. The petitioner was appointed as a Driver in the service of the Tamil Nadu Transport Corporation Limited, originally at Kanchipuram Zone, now serving in Villupuram Zone, on daily wage basis from the year 1990. The petitioner would aver that an accident had occurred on 04.06.2000, and a passenger died on the spot, while he tried to get down from the running bus driven by the petitioner. After investigation, a case was registered and it was also closed and as such, the petitioner is not facing any adverse remarks and has rendered his service honestly and https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
sincerely to the satisfaction of his superiors.
3. The grievance expressed by the petitioner is that though he has served in the capacity as a driver from the year 1998, his service is yet to be regularised. He would further submit that though he was appointed on monthly wage basis in the time scale of pay vide proceedings of the 2nd respondent dated 7.8.2006, the benefit of permanency have not been accorded to him. In this regard, he has submitted a representation the the respondents and since no orders have been passed, he came forward to file this writ petition.
4. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.T.C.Gopalakrishnan, learned standing counsel appearing for the respondents.
5. Though the petitioner prays for a larger relief, this Court, in the light of the above facts and circumstances and without going into the merits of the claim projected by the petitioner, directs the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 04.11.2016 on merits and in accordance with law and pass orders within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken to the petitioner.
