O R D E R
(The case has been heard through video conference) The petitioner, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the alleged offences punishable under Sections 4(1)(A) & 4(1)(a) of Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act in Crime No.83 of 2020, on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail.
2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner was found in illegal possession of 20 litres of ID Arrack. Hence, the complaint.
3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is an innocent person and he has not involved in any of the offence as alleged by the prosecution. Hence, he prays to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
4. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent would submit that the petitioner was found in illegal possession of 20 litres of ID Arrack. He further submitted that the petitioner is having seven previous cases in similar nature. Hence, he strongly opposed to grant 2/4
anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
5.Taking into consideration the above facts and circumstances of the case and also considering the previous antecedents of the petitioner, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. Hence, this Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed.
