ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Acting Chief Justice) Heard, Ms.R.Saritha, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.S.Yashwanth, learned Additional Government Pleader for respondents 1, 2 and 5, Mr.R.Muniyapparaj, learned Additional Public Prosecutor, for respondents 3 and 4, Ms.N.S.Tanvi, learned counsel for respondent No.6 and Mr.S.Arivazhagan, learned counsel for respondents 7 and 8.

2. The petitioner seeks direction against the respondents to initiate action against 7th and 8th respondents for unauthorisedly conducting karate competitions in the State level and issuing invalid certificates to the students participating in the competition.

3. The petitioner states that the 7th and 8th respondents are the President and Secretary of Tamilnadu Sports Karate-Do Association, which is not registered under the Tamil Nadu Sports Development Authority and the certificates issued by them are considered invalid. To stall the competitions which were to be conducted by 7th and 8th respondents on 13.04.2024 and 14.04.2024, the petitioner has made a representation to respondents 1 to 6, however, no action was taken based on the said representation. Hence, the petitioner has approached this Court.

4. Though the prayer sought by the petitioner to refrain 7th and 8th respondents from conducting the competitions on 13.04.2024 and 14.04.2024 cannot be gone into at this stage, considering the grievance addressed by the petitioner in his representation raising

certain allegations against 7th and 8th respondents and the Association, without going into the merits of the case, we direct the respondents 5 and 6 to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 19.03.2024 purely on its own merits and pass orders on the same in accordance with law, of course, after giving an opportunity of hearing to the parties concerned. The said exercise shall be completed within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

With the aforesaid direction, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs. Consequently, W.M.P.No.10776 of 2024 is closed. (R.M.D., ACJ.) (M.S.Q., J.) 12.06.2024 Index :
