The petitioner, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offences punishable under Sections 294(b), 324, 506(ii) of IPC, in Crime No.3 of 2023, seeks anticipatory bail.

2. The case of the prosecution as per the defacto complainant Vignesh is that on 03.01.2023 at about 8.30 p.m., he was standing near a Pillaiyar Temple. At that time, due to previous enmity, the petitioner who came there, abused him in filthy language and attacked with knife due to which, he sustained injuries on his chin. Further, the petitioner threatened him with dire consequences. Hence, the case.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is an innocent person and he has been falsely implicated in this case. Hence, he prayed to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondent police vehemently opposed for grant of anticipatory bail

to the petitioner stating that due to the attack made by the petitioner, the victim sustained injuries and suffered 5 stitches. Further, the petitioner is is a History Sheeter and having 3 previous cases for the offence under Section 324 IPC and also under NDPS Act.

5. Taking into consideration the nature of offence and the previous antecedents of the petitioner, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

6. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed.
