Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to do reconstruction work in the Arulmighu Gopala Pillaiyar Thirukoil, Thiruvannamalai Taluk and District.

O R D E R

Mr.M.Maharaja, learned Special Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents. By consent of the parties, the main writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

2. The petitioner seeks for a mandamus directing the respondents to do reconstruction work in the Arulmighu Gopala Pillaiyar Thirukoil, Thiruvannamalai Taluk and District.

3. The petitioner claims to be one of the Donors for renovation of the said temple, has filed the present writ petition with the relief as stated supra, by contending that the renovation work has not been carried out for a long time, even though repeated request was made. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

4. The learned Special Government Pleader for the respondents, based on instructions, submitted that the subject matter temple is admittedly, more than 100 years old and therefore, the renovation work/Kumbabhishekam has to be carried out only after obtaining permission from the District Level Screening Committee as well as the Heritage Committee appointed by this Court in WP.No.574 of 2015. He further submitted that the District Level Screening Committee has already granted permission and now, the matter is pending before the said Expert Committee namely, the Heritage Committee appointed by this Court for their approval. Thus, he submitted that as soon as the said approval is granted, the renovation work will be carried out without loss of further time.

Considering the above stated facts and circumstances and in view of the specific submission made by the learned Special Government Pleader for the respondents that the matter is now pending before the Expert/Heritage Committee appointed by this Court, the respondents shall take an effective steps to get the opinion of such Expert/Heritage Committee at the earliest possible time and proceed accordingly, in respect of renovation work of the subject matter temple.

6. It is submitted by the learned Special Government Pleader that within a period of 6 to 8 months time, the renovation work of the subject matter temple will be attended to.

7. By recording the above said submission made by the learned Special Government Pleader for the respondents, this writ petition is closed with the above observations. No costs.
