The petitioner has filed the above Writ Petition to issue a writ of Certiorari to call for the records relating to the cancellation of license passed by the 1st respondent in his proceedings dated 29.11.2014 and to quash the same.
2.It is the case of the petitioner that the 1st respondent cancelled the gun license of the petitioner stating that a criminal case in S.C.No.10/2014 under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code is pending on the file of the Principal District Court, Vellore. The impugned order was passed on 29.11.2014. As against the order passed by the 1st respondent, the petitioner has filed an appeal before the Commissioner (Revenue Administration), Chennai, on 02.11.2015.
3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the Sessions Case in S.C.No.10/2014 on the file of Principal District Court, Vellore had ended in acquittal and therefore, the petitioner is entitled to have a gun license. 4.Since the petitioner has filed an appeal as against the impugned order dated 29.11.2014, I do not find any reason to entertain the present Writ Petition. It is upon to the petitioner to prosecute the appeal in accordance with law. 5.In these circumstances, the Writ petition stands dismissed. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
