ORDER
This writ petition is filed for seeking mandamus to direct the respondent to give permission to conduct Song and Dance Cultural programme during Sri Porkodi Amman Temple Festival at Velangadu Village, Vellore district. The relief sought in this petition cannot be acceded for the simple reason that law and order which is to be taken into account, whenever permission for public gathering or programmes at public places are conducted. As far as this case is concerned, the petitioner wants to celebrate the festival by conducting song and dance programme. The locus of the petitioner, the factual scenario prevailing in the area, public peace and tranquility can be decided only by the local police. It is open to the respondent to take appropriate decision if any representation is given by the petitioner, considering the local law and order situations and pass orders in accordance with law.
