ORDER
This Criminal Original Petition has been filed by the petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 29.05.2024, seeking bail in Crime No.99 of 2024 registered for the offence under Section 392 of IPC. 2.It is the case of the prosecution that the petitioner had committed theft of 13 sovereign gold jewels from the defacto complainant. Hence, the case.
3.This is the second bail application filed by the petitioner. The earlier bail application was dismissed by this Court on 25.02.2025 considering the fact that the petitioner had 32 previous cases of similar in nature.
4.The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is in custody from 29.05.2024 and cannot be detained indefinitely during trial and sought for bail.

5.The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) would reiterate the prosecution case and submit that the trial has commenced and is likely to be completed in the near future.
6.Considering the fact that the petitioner has 32 previous cases, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner at this stage. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. However, the petitioner cannot be detained indefinitely during trial. Hence, the Trial Court is directed to conclude the trial as expeditiously as possible. If the trial is not completed within a period of two months, the petitioner shall be at liberty to renew the bail application.
