PRAYER : Criminal Original Petition is filed under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, to pass an interim direction directing the 1st and 3rd respondents to give adequate police protection to the petitioner and villagers of Azhagapuram Pudhur Village to perform Religious Rites & Custom i.e., Ancestor Worship in the Memorials situated in the Burial Ground, measuring about 4705 sq.ft bearing (Old) S.No.206/1, (New) WardC, Block-10, T.S.No.7, (New Re-Survey) Ward-K, Block-10, T.S.No.44 of Azhagapuram Pudhur Village, Salem West Taluk, Salem district during "Thai Pournami" which falls on 31.01.2017 pending disposal of this direction petition.

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking for police protection.

2. The petition was filed in the year 2018. By efflux of time, the cause of action that has been projected to seek for the relief of police protection, may not survive at this length of time and this Court is not inclined to grant any police protection.

3. If and when the petitioner encounters a situation wherein he requires police protection for the life and property, a fresh representation can be made to the respondent police and the same shall be considered and a proper action shall be taken in accordance with law.
