ORDER

The petitioner who was arrested on 14.04.2021 and remanded to judicial custody for the offences punishable under Sections 406, 420 of IPC in Cr.No.186 of 2021 on the file of the respondent police, seeks bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner had collected a sum of Rs.58 Lakhs and cheated the defacto complainant and other various persons totalling to Rs.4.5 Crores. Hence, the complaint was registered.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is no way connected with the alleged offence and he has been falsely implicated in this case and the petitioner has been in jail from 14.04.2021. He would further submit that the petitioner is ready to deposit a sum of Rs.50 Lakhs. Therefore, he prays to grant bail to the petitioner.

4. The learned counsel appearing for the Government of Tamil Nadu (Crl.Side) would submit that the petitioner had impersonated himself as a Bank employee and collected huge amount from various persons. He would further submit that the investigation is still pending. Hence, he vehemently opposed for grant of bail to the petitioner.

5. The learned counsel appearing for the intervenor/defacto complainant vehemently opposed for grant of bail to the petitioner.

6. Having regard to the nature of allegations and considering the fact that the investigation is still pending and huge amount was involved in this case and also considering the fact that the case is now transferred to CCB, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.
