This application has been filed to appoint an Interpreter who is proficient in reading and writing the Tamil Language to the applicant at the time of adducing evidence during trial in the above suit.

2. The applicant is the 4th defendant and she is 85 years old. Due to hearing impairment, she is not able to reply the questions posted by the learned Master. The applicant is able to read and write Tamil only hence, an Interpreter is needed to translate the questions posted by the other side counsel in Tamil and translate the answers given by the applicant in English and help the Court to record evidence seamlessly.

3. In view of the age and hearing impairment of the applicant / 4th defendant who has already filed proof affidavit, I feel it is essential to appoint an Interpreter who is well-versed in both Tamil and English in order to translate and write the questions to be posted by the respondents' counsel in Tamil to the applicant and then translate the answers given by Page No.1 of 2 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis

the applicant in English. Since the language of the Court is English, such an assistance is essential for the reasons stated in this application.

4. Though the applicant is not able to hear, she is able to read and write Tamil and hence, the evidence could be recorded with the help of an Interpreter. Therefore, this application is allowed and; (i) Ms.J.Jenny, Advocate, having office at No.6, Francis Joseph Street, (Opp to High Court), Chennai -1, Mobile Number : 9566022996, is appointed as an Interpreter to help the applicant to translate the questions posted by the other side counsel in Tamil and translate the answers given by the applicant in English and assist the witness during recording evidence.

(ii) The remuneration of the Interpreter is fixed as Rs.25,000/-. The said amount is payable by the applicant to the Interpreter.
