ORDER

[Order of the Court was made by V.SIVAGNANAM, J.] Seeking a direction to the respondent to produce the detenue Sanaa Batool, aged about 19 years, before this Court and to set her at liberty, the present habeas corpus petition has been filed.

2.It is the case of the petitioner that his daughter Sanaa Batool, aged about 19 years, went missing from 10.01.2020 and thereafter, her whereabouts are not known.

3.Today, Mr.R.Thirunavukarasu, Sub Inspector of Police, Vellore South Police Station, Vellore is present. 4.On instructions, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that on the complaint given by the petitioner, a case in Vellore South P.S. Crime No.112 of 2020 for 'woman missing' https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

has been registered on 03.03.2020 and enquiries revealed that Sanaa Batool was in love with one Raghavendra Singh and had eloped with him to Uttar Pradesh.

5.In such view of the matter, we direct the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Vellore Sub Division, Vellore, to monitor the investigation in Vellore South P.S. Crime No.112 of 2020 and keep the petitioner informed of the developments, if any. As and when the girl is secured, she may be produced before the Judicial Magistrate -I, Vellore, under intimation to the petitioner.

6.With the above direction, the habeas corpus petition stands closed.
