ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed in the nature of Mandamus directing the first and second respondents to consider a representation dated 16.07.2019 given by the petitioner to the first respondent to verify the measurements and record the exact measurement of 20 cents in the FMB for the land situated in Survey No. 145/1A1 in Nammangalam Village, Chengalpattu District.

2. The petitioner had purchased the said property by sale deed dated 16.09.1992. The petitioner claims to be in

possession. The petitioner also claims that necessary revenue records reflects the name of the petitioner, particularly the patta and other documents, but however, the area in the FMD Register and as given in the patta differs and for this purpose, a representation had been given by the petitioner on 16.07.2019 requesting the measurements of the petitioner's property and incorporating the correct measurement in the relevant revenue records.

3. It is complained by the learned counsel for the petitioner that though the representation has been given nearly 2 years back, no effective steps have been taken by the respondents.

4. A Mandamus is therefore issued to the second respondent/Tahsildar, to act on the representation dated 16.07.2019 and to verify the measurement of the property of the petitioner and record the exact measurement of the land situated in Survey No. 145/1A1 in Nammangalam Village, Chengalpattu District.

5. The Tahsildar may also issue a notice to the petitioner and in the presence of the petitioner conduct such measurement with the help of a surveyor. The petitioner may also give a fresh copy of the said representation dated 16.07.2019 to the Tashildar within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and thereafter, within a period of four weeks, the Tashildar should complete the exercise assigned by this order.

6. With the above said direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of.
