ORDER
This writ petition has been filed to direct the first respondent to rectify the petitioner's seniority in the Post Graduate Teacher cadre from 06.08.2008 to
16.07.2008, in conformity with the proceedings of the respondent in Na.Ka.No.23037/W2/E1/2008 dated 16.07.2008 and grant all consequential service and monetary benefits arising from such rectification based on petitioner's representation dated 14.02.2026.
2. It is the case of the petitioner that she is presently working as a Post Graduate Assistant (Mathematics) in Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Thanjavur. She was initially appointed in the year 2002, through the Teachers Recruitment Board in the Most Backward Classes Welfare Department. Subsequently, by proceedings dated 16.07.2008 of the Director of School Education in Na.Ka.No.23037/W2/E1/2008, she was granted interdepartmental transfer to the School Education Department, which clearly stipulated that the seniority of the transferred individual shall be fixed with reference to the date of issuance of the transfer order. The petitioner joined duty in the School Education Department on 06.08.2008. However, the respondents have erroneously fixed her seniority from the date of joining i.e., 06.08.2008 instead of 16.07.2008.
Hence, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 14.02.2026, before the first respondent seeking rectification of her seniority from 16.07.2008. However, no effective orders have been passed till date. Hence, the present writ petition has been filed.
3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned
Government Advocate appearing for the respondents and perused the materials available on record.
4. Considering the relief now sought for by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 14.02.2026, on merits and in accordance with law and to pass appropriate orders, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs. 03-06-2026 Index: Yes/No rap To
