The petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 20.12.2024, for the offences punishable under Sections 309(4), 311 of BNS, 2023, [under Sections 392 and 397 of IPC] in Crime No.531 of 2024, on the file of the respondent Police, seeks bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that, on 28.11.2024, when the de facto was in her Appollo tyres centre, situated at Arumbakkam junction, the petitioner, along with other accused, entered into the shop, closed the shutter and at knife point robbed Rs.2,000/- and 7 1⁄2 sovereigns of gold jewels, and then escaped. Hence, the case.

3. From the records, it is seen that two earlier bail petitions in Crl.O.P.Nos.3748 & 6171 of 2025 were dismissed as withdrawn by this Court, vide orders dated 14.02.2025 and 11.03.2025 respectively.

4. Today, 24.09.2025, when the matter was taken up for hearing, there is no representation on behalf of the petitioner. 2/4

5. Learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police reiterated the prosecution case and opposed the grant of bail to the petitioner, on the ground that the petitioner herein is having 43 previous cases.

6. Heard the learned counsels on either side and perused the materials available on record.

7. Considering the gravity of the offences and bad antecedents, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.

8. Accordingly, this criminal original petition stands dismissed. 24.09.2025 cda 3/4
