O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondent to grant permission and police protection to conduct the cultural programme of Adal Padal on 25.04.2023 at 06.00 PM to 11.00 PM at Sri koothandavar Temple Car festival Vedandavadi village, Vedandavadi Post, Kilpennathur Taluk, Tiruvannamalai District by considering the petitioner's representation dated 31.03.2023.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that in order to conduct the cultural programme in the event of Adal Padal on 25.04.2023 at 06.00 PM to 11.00 PM at Sri koothandavar Temple Car festival Vedandavadi village, Vedandavadi Post, Kilpennathur Taluk, Tiruvannamalai District, the petitioner has sent a representation dated 03.04.2023 to the respondents. But, the same has not been considered so far. Hence, the present writ petition has been filed. 2/5

3. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) appearing for the respondents submitted that the respondents police has received the representation of the petitioner and the same is pending for consideration.

4. I have considered the submission of the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) appearing for the respondent police.

It is brought to the notice of this Court that the Director General of Police, Tamil Nadu, Chennai, had issued a Circular Memorandum in Rc.007301/Genl.I(1)/2019, dated 09.04.2019, along with instructions to the Inspectors of Police throughout Tamil Nadu for consideration of applications seeking permission for conducting cultural programme. Therefore, in view of the detailed circular and guidelines issued by the Director General of Police, the respondent police is hereby directed to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 31.03.2023 and pass suitable orders based on the above said circular. 3/5
