... Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 1, 2 and 4 to pay interest on the compensation amount pertaining to Award No.5 of 2013 at 9 % from the date of taking over possession.

O R D E R

The Writ Petition is filed for directing the respondents 1, 2 and 4 to pay interest on the compensation amount pertaining to Award No.5 of 2013 at 9% from the date of taking over possession till the amount actually paid to the petitioner.

2. The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner land was sought to be acquired under the Tamil Nadu Acquisition https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

of Land For Industrial Purposes Act, 1997 (Tamil Nadu Act 10/1999) and award was also passed on 19.11.2013, fixing a compensation at Rs.4,23,000/- and the amount was paid to the petitioner on 18.12.2013. The petitioner has not received the interest as per Section 12 of the Act. Hence, the writ petition has been filed.

3. Mr.D.Raja, learned Additional Government Pleader, appearing for the respondents on instructions submitted that a proposal is pending for sanctioning the amount and within a period of 3 months the interest would be paid to the petitioner. Recording the above submissions the writ petition is disposed of, directing the respondents to pay the interest as per Section 12, within a period of 3 months from the date of receipt of copy of this order. No Costs.
