Prayer: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to settle the petitioner's retirement benefits including Provident Fund, Gratuity, EL & ML Surrender, Social Welfare, D.A., IRT, E.L.Surrender arrears and Settlement Amount (VII Pay Commission) with interest at the rate of not less than 18% per annum payable from the date of retirement and consequently directing the respondents to pay interest at the rate of 18% per annum for the belated settlement of retirement benefits to the petitioner payable from the date of retirement i.e., 31.05.2018 to till date of actual payment to the petitioner. When the matter was taken up for hearing on 24.11.2022, none appeared on behalf of the petitioner. Thus, this Court passed an order, directing the Registry to list the matter on 28.11.2022 under the caption "For Dismissal".

2. Again when the matter was called on 28.11.2022, there was no representation on behalf of the petitioner. In order to give one more opportunity, this Court passed an order directing the Registry to list this matter once again under the caption "For Dismissal" on 30.11.2022. 2/4

3. Even today also i.e., on 30.11.2022, when the matter is called, there is no representation on behalf of the writ petitioner. Thus, this Court passed the following order.

4. The learned counsel appearing on behalf of the respondent furnished the copy of the proceedings stating that the Gratuity Amount payable to the petitioner has already been settled. If at all, any other grievances exist for the petitioner, he is at liberty to approach the Competent Authorities. With these observations, the writ petition stands closed.
