Respondents Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for a writ of mandamus directing the respondents herein to consider forthwith the representation dated 10.12.2014 providing electricity connection to the petitioner's residence bearing Survey No.104 & 105, Dr.Ambedkar Street, Puthama Nagar, Kazhipattu Village, Kelambakkam Post, Thiruporur Taluk, Kancheepuram District 603 103.

By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal. 2.

The petitioner submitted an application dated 10.12.2014 to give electricity connection to her premises to the 2nd respondent and since no orders have been passed, the petitioner has come forward to file this writ petition.

Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the electricity service connection is a basic amenity and therefore, the 2nd respondent is bound to provide the same, if the petitioner is complying with the relevant norms and conditions and prays for the disposal of the petitioner's application. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

Heard Mr.P.Gunaraj, learned standing counsel who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.

This Court, without going into the merits of the petitioner's representation/application, directs the 2nd respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 10.12.2014 in accordance with law and pass orders within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken to the petitioner. 6.The writ petition is disposed of accordingly.
