Respondents Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, Calling for the records pertaining to the demand notice made in Na.Ka.No.J dated 02.02.2018 issued by the 2nd respondent revising the property tax from Rs.588/- to Rs.2908/- per half year from 2017-2018 and quash the same and subsequently direct the 2nd respondent to pass final order on the notice dated 03.11.2017 after due consideration of the objections submitted by the petitioner in accordance with G.O.Ms.No.73 dated 19.07.2018 issued by Municipal Administration and Water Supply Department.

According to the petitioner, show cause notice has been issued by the respondent Corporation demanding revised assessment of property tax. On receipt of the said show cause notice, petitioner has submitted objection to the respondent Corporation on 23.6.2018. The said objection is still pending https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
and no order has been passed by the respondent Corporation. Therefore, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition before this Court.
2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that it would be suffice to direct the respondents to consider the objection made by the petitioner and pass orders in accordance with law.
3. The learned Standing counsel appearing for the respondent Corporation would submit that the objection of the petitioner will be considered in accordance with the provisions of law and orders will be passed within the time limit that may be fixed by this Court.
4. Considering the limited scope of prayer sought for in the writ petition, without expressing any opinion on merit, the respondent Corporation is directed to consider the objection of the petitioner, dated 23.06.2018 and pass revised assessment orders in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of copy of the order. The petitioner is directed to enclose the copy of the objection with copy of the order. In fine, the writ petition stands disposed of. No costs. Connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
