ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for a mandamus to direct the respondent to pay the petitioner a sum of Rs.1,99,526/- towards difference in Gratuity, with 10% interest, as admitted in the RTI reply dated 12.09.2023. 2.Mr.M.Murali vinoth, learned counsel takes notice on behalf of the respondent.

3. When the matter came up for hearing, learned counsel for the respondent would submit that the eligible amount will be paid to the petitioner within a reasonable time as may be fixed by this Court.

4. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that in all the similar matters, this Court has consistently allowed the payment along with interest at the rate of 6% per annum.

5. In that view of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of on the following terms:- 1) The respondent is directed to disburse the difference in Gratuity to the petitioner if he is eligible as per the Rules within a period of eight

(8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order with interest at the rate of 6% per annum from the date it became due till the date of disbursement.

2) The respondent shall also pay interest at the rate of 6% per annum in respect of the Gratuity already paid to the petitioner from the date on which the amount became due till date of disbursement;

3) If the amount is not paid within a period of eight (8) weeks, thereafter, the same shall carry the interest at the rate of 12% per annum from the date it became due till the date of disbursement.

4) No costs.
