PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents herein to pay the compensation amount for the petitioner's land which is situated in S.No.6/7 of Kandarakottai Village, Panruti Taluk, Cuddalore District based on the petitioner's representation dated 27.12.2018. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the relief sought for in this writ petition is to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 21.12.2018 to the respondents to pay the compensation amount for the petitioner's land acquired by the respondents in S.No.6/7 of Kandarakottai Village, Panruti Taluk, Cuddalore District for the purpose of laying four way road Vikravandi-Kumbakonnam-Thanjavur Division. 2.The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents on instruction would submit that the Special District Revenue Officer (Land Acquisition), National Highway, Villupuram was vacant since 13.03.2019. After filling up of the above said post, the new Special District Revenue Officer (Land https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
Acquisition), National Highway, Villupuram will consider the petitioner's request for payment of compensation and pass appropriate orders.
3.By recording the aforesaid submission of the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents, without expressing any opinion, this Court is inclined to direct the Special District Revenue Officer (Land Acquisition), National Highway, Villupuram shall be direct to determine the compensation and pass orders as expeditiously as possible, within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, for considering the petitioner's representation dated 27.12.2018, for payment of compensation. 4.Accordingly, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. However, there shall be no order as to costs.
