ORDER

(Order of the court was made by the Hon'ble Acting Chief Justice) T.Muthupandiyan, son of Thiruvarangesan, a resident of Valluvar Nagar, Thirupoondi West, Nagapattinam District, has filed this writ petition seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to provide basic amenities in Valluvar Nagar, Thirupoondi West, Keel Velur Taluk, Nagappatinam District, based on the petitioner's representation dated 12.02.2023.

2. Mr.P.Dasarathan, learned counsel appearing on behalf of

the petitioner, would submit that although forty families are residing in the aforesaid village, till date basic amenities like road, graveyard, drainage, etc., are not provided in the said village. Ventilating his grievance, the petitioner sent a representation to the respondent authorities on 12.2.2023. As the said representation did not evoke any response, the petitioner has been advised to file the present writ petition.

3. Mr.J.Ravindran, learned Additional Advocate General appearing on behalf of respondents 1, 2 and 4, and Mr.P.Muthukumar, learned State Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the third respondent, would submit that the representation of the petitioner will be considered by the respondent authorities expeditiously.

4. Recording the aforesaid submission made on behalf of the respondents and considering the fact that forty families are residing in the aforesaid village without any basic amenities, we dispose of the writ petition with a direction to the respondent authorities to

consider the representation of the petitioner dated 12.2.2023 and take appropriate action as expeditiously as possible. There will be no order as to costs.
