The petitioner is presently serving as a Noon Meal Organizer at the Panchayat Union Elementary School, Vairavankuppam, Sholavaram Block, Thiruvallur District, holding additional charge of the post of Noon Meal Organizer at the Panchayat Union Elementary School, Arani (North), Sholavaram Block with effect from July 2015. As the place given for holding additional charge is just 2 kilometres from her residence, whereas the place to which she is permanently posted viz., Vairavankuppam is about 20 kilometres, she has given a representation on 22.05.2017 stating that she has been working in the said school for the past 13 years and in view of the fact that two Noon Meal Centres are being handled, one Centre is https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
situated at 2 kilometres from her residence and another centre is situated at about 20 kilometres from her residence, she has requested the District Collector, Thiruvallur to retain her in Arani (North) which is about only 2 kilometres and relieve her from duty from the centre at Vairavankuppam. As the said representation has not been considered, she has been advised to come to this court. 2.Mr.T.M.Pappiah, learned Special Government Pleader taking notice on behalf of the respondent No.1 sought for six weeks time to consider the pending representation.
3.Since the petitioner is admittedly holding two charges, one at the Noon Meal Centre at Vairavankuppam and another at the Noon Meal Centre at Arani (North) as additional charge, this Court finds no impediment to direct the District Collector to consider the case of the petitioner. Accordingly, the first respondent-District Collector, Thiruvallur is directed to retain the petitioner at Noon Meal Centre at Arani (North), relieve her as and when occasion arises by appointing a suitable Noon Meal Organizer at Vairavankuppam and pass appropriate orders in this regard within a period of six weeks time from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
4.The writ petition stands disposed of accordingly. No costs.
