ORDER

The petitioner apprehends arrest for the alleged offence under Sections 8(c) and 20(b)(ii)(B) of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 in Crime No.40 of 2026 on the file of the respondent police seeks anticipatory

bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner, along with other accused, was found to be in illegal possession of 1.800 kgs of ganja. Hence, the complaint.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner has no connection with the alleged offence and has been falsely implicated in this case. He further submitted that the petitioner is ready to abide by any conditions that may be imposed by this Court. Hence, he prayed for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) strongly opposed the application and submitted that the case involves narcotic substances and that if the petitioner is enlarged on bail, it may embolden him to indulge in similar activities.

5. I have given anxious consideration to the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side and also perused the records available.

6. The above contention cannot be lightly ignored. Considering the nature of the allegations and the circumstances under which the petitioner has been

arrayed as an accused, this Court is of the view that the petitioner does not deserve the grant of anticipatory bail. Accordingly, this petition is dismissed. 24-03-2026 MPA To 1.The Inspector of Police Vellore South, Vellore.
