Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 13.02.2017 and to direct the respondent to follow to a Seniority in the selection of Sub Inspector of Police.

O R D E R

The petitioner claims to have been appointed as a Group II Police Constable on 30.04.1988. After a long time, he was given promotion to the post of Special Sub Inspector of Police on 30.04.2013. But his grievance is that when the petitioner had completed 29 years of service from the year 1988, the women police officers joined in the year 1991 were given preference as a result the senior police officers belonging to 1988 batch were overlooked. Therefore, he has given a representation on 13.02.2017. Till date, the same has not been considered. Therefore, a direction may be given to consider and dispose of the said representation on merits, he pleaded. 2.Mr.T.M.Pappiah, learned Special Government Pleader takes notice on behalf of the respondents.

3.This Court, considering the limited prayer, hereby directs the respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner on merits and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks time from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
