Contempt Petitions filed under Section 11 of Contempt of Courts Act, 1971 to punish the respondents for disobeying the common order of this Court dated 12.12.2019 passed in W.P.No.4240 of 2018 and W.P.No.22059 of 2017. For Petitioners:

COMMON ORDER Heard Mr.R.Balaguru Swamy, learned counsel for the petitioners and Mr.T.M.Pappaiah, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the second respondent.

2. These contempt petitions have been filed alleging willful disobedience of the order and directions issued in W.P.Nos.22059 of 2017 and 4240 of 2018.

3. It is submitted that in violation of the order of status quo granted in W.P.No.22059 of 2017, registration of the property has been done. The learned counsel for the petitioners would argue that the order dated 12.12.2019 is a common order in all the writ petitions and the status quo would enure in respect of all the properties.

4. However, this submission is factually incorrect because in paragraph 8, the order of status quo granted in W.P.No.22059 of 2017, dated 18.08.2017 was directed to be continued till the inspection had to be conducted. The said writ petition was filed by K.K.Sengodan, son of K.T.Kalianna Gounder and only one survey number was subject matter of writ petition, namely New Survey No.155/2B. Therefore, the question of entertaining an application for contempt would not arise.

5. Accordingly, the contempt petitions are dismissed. Consequently, connected sub applications are closed.
